Special Dates

Confirmation:  Saturday 26th March in St Mochua’s Church Derrynoose at 11.00am.

School Photographer:  Monday 28th March for all children including Confirmation Children.

First Confession:  Friday 8th April in St Mochua’s Church at 1.30pm.  (Provisional Date)

First Holy Communion:  Saturday 7th May in St Mochua’s Church Derrynoose at 1.00pm.

Please note Gillian Murphy will have a studio set up in the school hall on the day of First Communion for families wishing to avail of photographs – booking will be via Gillian.

BEFORE COMING TO SCHOOL EACH DAY;

Attendance:

If your child is feeling unwell you must follow the guidelines below.

  1. A child who is unwell should remain at home until their symptoms subside.
  2. A child who is unwell with any one of the following symptoms: consistent cough, high temperature and or loss of taste and smell must request a test from the Covid Helpline by dialling 111.
  3. If a child displays symptoms of COVID-19, they, and any members of their household within the school setting, must be sent home and advised to follow the PHA guidance.
  4. If the test is negative the child must remain at home until 48 hrs after their symptoms cease.
  5. If a child tests positivethey return to school;
  • Ten days after symptom onset
  • or in case of a positive test but asymptomatic 10 days after test
  • or if they develop symptoms after the positive test then 10 days after symptom onset
  1. Siblings of a child who tests positive must, must be kept at home and follow the advice at point 6 below.
  2. If your child is a close contact of someone else in the school they must follow one of the following pathways;
  • If they have had a positive PCR test in the previous 90 days they can continue to attend school as per normal, unless they develop symptoms
  • If they have not had a positive PCR test in the previous 90 days they must stay had home and get a PCR test – if it is negative they can return to school and they must get a second PCR test on day 8.

Children who become unwell in school with one of the three covid symptoms will be sent home.  Parents will be expected to get their child tested and follow guidance as above. We appreciate the inconvenience that this may cause but we have a duty of care to ensure the health and safety of all children and staff.

It is important that all parents follow the protocols above to ensure the remainder of their child’s class can continue to attend school.
